'Evidence-based' describes a claim or recommendation supported by rigorous scientific research — ideally randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews — rather than tradition, anecdote, or marketing. On this site, every claim is rated against the strength of its supporting evidence, from strongly supported to unsupported.
